Hello to everybody. I write from Northern Italy and I apologize if I write in English.

I purchased an Hobby caravan 720 in Germany and i have to transport it in Italy, ( via Austria ) .

The question for wich I need your help is if I am allowed to tow the caravan with my car ( in Germany and Austria ) .


The data of the car are the folllowing: ( these are similar than German homologation )

Towing max 1850 Kg ( O.1 ) ( massa massima a rimorchio tecnicamente ammessa )
max value car+trailer 3880 Kg ( F.3 ) ( massa a pieno carico della combinazione )


The data of the caravan are:

Max weight allowed 2000 Kg ( written in the brief )
Mass in travelling condition 1835Kg



I have BE driving licence, so I can tow trailer

Can someone kindly tell me if I am allowed to tow this caravan if I am sure that the REAL weight of the caravan is < 1850 Kg and the REAL weight of the cambination is < 3880 Kg ( even if the max allowed weight of the caravan 2000 is < of the max towing 1850 ) .

I think that the REAL weight of trailer cannot exceed 1850 anyway. ( see O.1)

So that the REAL weight of the car cannot exceed ( 3880-1850
= 2030 Kg )


Do you think this is valid also in Austria?
